About Ewings Sarcoma..

This type of cancer is more common in young people than adults.  Any bone can be affected but the pelvis and the tibia are the more common sites.  It can also develop in the soft tissue surrounding these bones.  (As in Michael’s case, the muscle around the tibia).  It is slightly more common in males than in females.

 These tumours require specialist management involving surgeons and oncologists working very closely together.  Treatment is by chemotherapy, surgery or radiotherapy or combination of two or all three.

 Research into Ewings Sarcoma is relatively limited as a consequence of it's rarity.
